Event organized by Slovak Society of Forensic Medicine, in Congress Hotel Centrum Košice, Slovakia, from: 12th June 2024 to: 14th June 2024. Dear Colleagues and Friends, it is our great pleasure and honor to invite you to the 9th Slovak-Czech Congress of Forensic Medicine with international participation, to be held in Kosice, Slovakia, in Congress Hotel Centrum on 12–14 June 2024. On behalf of the Slovak Society of Forensic Medicine, this year’s congress will be organized by the Department of Forensic Medicine of Pavol Jozef Safarik University in Kosice, the second oldest institution for forensic medicine in Slovakia, under the auspices of the Faculty of Medicine at UPJS in Kosice. Forensic medicine is a constantly evolving interdisciplinary field, and that is why we want to dedicate the congress program to all areas of forensic medicine, including practice, research, and teaching. Contributions from related medical and non-medical fields, including forensic sciences and law, are also welcome. We believe that the variety and diversity of the professional program will provide interesting lectures and discussions even outside the scientific program. The venue of the congress, the city of Kosice, offers a rich history and opportunities for cultural enjoyment, which makes it one of the most sought-after travel destinations in Slovakia. We hope that during your stay, the metropolis of eastern Slovakia will enchant you as it did many of its visitors. Welcome party will be held in the Botanical Garden UPJS in Kosice, which is the largest botanical garden in Slovakia and considered one of the most important botanical institutions in Central Europe. This meeting serves as an invaluable platform to exchange insights and experiences regarding current practices and to explore emerging techniques and ideas that shape the future of Forensic Medicine, Toxicology and Gentics.
While applying new techniques presents challenges, we also acknowledge the persistent issues from the past and present. The meeting promises to be a forum for addressing these challenges collectively and charting a course toward innovative solutions.
